Kitchen Tip: Easiest Way to Peel Peaches

Now that peach season is upon us, I thought I'd share a tip for the best way I've found to peel them.  For years I'd do what everyone does - cut an x in the bottom, boil for 60 seconds, submerge in an ice water bath, then wrestle the slippery fruits while coaxing the loosened skins off with a sharp paring knife.  Lots of steps, lots of dishes to wash.

Now I use a simple serrated vegetable peeler to easily remove the skins from the fresh fruit.  Not boiling water, no ice water, no mess.... and only one dirty peeler to wash.  Love it!
