Corn on the Cob Hack

Corn on the Cob Hack - ButterYum

Love fresh corn on the cob, but hate all the annoying silk strands that are almost impossible to remove?  Well I have the best tip to share with you today.  I don't know where this kitchen hack has been my whole life, but I absolutely love it.

Simply microwave an unshucked ear of corn for about 5 minutes.

Be careful - it'll be very hot.

Carefully cut all the way through the cob, about 1/2-inch from the stem end.

The grab the silk end of the shuck and gently shake the cob right out.

There you go.  Perfectly shucked corn without a single silk in sight.  Perfect every time.

Kitchen Hack: Chopping Hard-Cooked Eggs

I've got a great kitchen tip to share with you today.  The next time you have a lot of hard-cooked eggs to chop, grab your cooling rack

Simply suspend the rack over a container to catch the eggs, then push the eggs through with the palm of your hand.

Ta-da! I was able to chop 18 hard-cooked eggs into perfectly uniform pieces in less than a minute using this technique. I'll never go back to my old way again!
