Homemade Vanilla Sugar
Patricia @ ButterYum
The holiday baking season isn’t too far away so it’s a good time to replenish your supplies. One ingredient I like to keep on hand is vanilla sugar. You can purchase vanilla sugar, but it’s more cost effective (and I think more flavorful) to make it yourself. Every time I have a spent vanilla bean leftover after making a recipe, I rinse the bean and allow it to dry, then place it in my vanilla sugar jar. As I use the vanilla-infused sugar, I simply replenish with more sugar. Some of the beans in my jar have been there for more than 20 years! Just keep adding more beans and sugar for an endless supply that just keeps getting better and better.
Happy Baking!
